DRF Steering Committee, Global Advisory Panel, and Staff Nov 2010
DRF’s organizational structure, which places persons with disabilities in powerful roles within DRF, was informed both by DRF’s grantmaking philosophy and principles and articles of the CRPD which recognize participation as an imperative.

The Global Advisory Panel is a panel of twelve members, tasked with recommending grantmaking strategy. The members of the Panel come from five continents and reflect a broad cross-section of the disability community. The majority were nominated by international and regional Disabled Persons Organizations. Two are ‘bridge-builders’ from other human rights communities. Advisors serve a three-year term.

Advisors for the period 2008-2010 are: Ola Abu Al Ghaib, Fredrick Ouko Alucheli, Gunta Anča, Shanti Dairiam, Bhargavi Davar, Javier Diez-Canseco, Venus Ilagan, Raisa Kravchenko, Jabulani Ncube, Martha Lucia Osorno Posada, Silvia Judith Quan-Chan, and William Rowland. Read the Advisor Bios.

The Steering Committee is a committee composed of donor representatives plus four members of the Global Advisory Panel, tasked with finalizing grantmaking strategy and determining grantee recommendations.

Selected by consensus among their peers, advisor members of the Steering Committee during the period 2008-2010 are: Ola Abu Al Ghaib, Bhargavi Davar, Silvia Judith Quan-Chan, and William Rowland.

DRF’s grantmaking is supported by a Director, four Program Officers, a Program Associate, and Operations Director as well as consultants and volunteers.
