To build the capacity of Grantee members to advocate effectively to NGO and government stakeholders on the issues of climate change and disability rights in Anowara, Banshkhali and Pekua sub-districts of Chittagong Division so that local responses to climate change hazards are inclusive of person with disabilities and reflect the CRPD, especially Article 11 (Situations of Risk and Humanitarian Emergencies). The project will work at sub-district levels to prepare teams of coastal persons with disabilities to work with local authorities to develop action plans to address climate change hazards. Grantee will liaise and coordinate between government, NGOs and persons with disabilities at sub-district levels to put in place persons with disabilities-focused emergency plans, and create publications and a documentary for local-level government officials and communities, aimed at giving priority to the rights of persons with disabilities in regard to climate change hazards in this coastal area of Bangladesh.
